Dr. Starkey: Hi, this is Dr. Starkey. Welcome back to Trace Your Day.
I hope that over the last few weeks you’ve enjoyed some of these conversations that I’ve had with some very dear friends in the industry. And I hope that today you’ve taken the time to take your trace minerals. If not, please step aside, take some minerals, and come back and listen to this next podcast.
I’ve got a dear friend of mine that we’ve been associated now for about 18 years in the nutritional industry. And he’s taught me so much. I love this passion. His name is Ray McWilliams. He’s become more like family than a customer. And I think that as we have this conversation today about this particular topic that I’d love for you to share your experience. I think you’ll find that he’s helped a lot of people.
And every time I receive the question about heart challenges or heart issues, whether it be arrhythmias or palpitations, and whether it’s related to our diets or our lifestyles or the stress that we’re under, I hope that today Ray will share a little bit of his life with us of what he experienced firsthand. So Ray, welcome to Trace Your Day.
Ray: Yeah, thank you Dr. Starkey.
Dr. Starkey: So here we are. I want to know, where’d time go?
Ray: That is a good question. Time goes so fast, especially as you get older. It seems to just whiz by.
Dr. Starkey: Right. It surprised me when you shared your age with me today. When our friendship first started, you were just a little bit older than I am today. And yet at the same time, it seems like our friendship has blossomed into one that I truly, when I’m looking for an answer or question about nutrition, you’re a part of my rolodex. Even though they don’t exist any longer.
I’d make a phone call and of course, I’ve loved your passion about life and your story is intriguing to me, Ray, because over the years of sharing your life with me, it makes me sad sometimes Ray, to think that you’re healthier today and living your golden years out healthier than you were when you were six years old.
Ray: Yes, that’s true.
Dr. Starkey: So share with us, in fact, I’ll share this. So I was doing a radio show about 16 or 17 years ago and Ray came onto this radio show as a guest call-in and shared his experience and it changed a lot of businesses that day. And the fact that I extended a free sample to those that were listening that day. We shared a lot of samples of ConcenTrace with a lot of people that day, Ray.
So if you would for me, share just a little bit, whatever you choose to share with us today, about your experience with A Fib.
Ray: Okay, A Fib is a problem that I had for a good 12years, and it began as a 5 or 10-minute episode in the middle of the night. It woke me up out of bed. And you sit up in bed, you think you’re gonna die from it, and it went away. So I didn’t think more of it. It happened again about a month later on my way to work.
These episodes became more and more frequent and longer durations. And this went on for about 12 years. Towards the end of the 12-yearperiod, it became not chronic, but my heart was in A Fib 24 hours a day, and it was more severe.
And people that have this condition know that when it happens, you have a personality change. You feel like you’re going to have a nervous breakdown. Your nerves are ready to let go on you. And you just don’t want to live anymore. It’s just miserable.
Dr. Starkey: So you become pretty desperate at that point.
Ray: Yes. Yes. You don’t care whether you’re going to get run over by a bus that day or not. And I went to a nutritionist, and he told me that most arrhythmias were magnesium deficiencies, electrolytes. And he had put me on some magnesium glycinate, and it didn’t do anything. And I’d tried the different forms of it throughout a couple months – the citrates, the gluconates, malates, and nothing was working.
And I went into a health food store to get some Vitamin C and on the shelf right above the Vitamin C, there was Trace Mineral Research brand trace minerals. So I bought a bottle of them and I thought, “Well, I’ve never heard of this brand before. I’ll try anything at this point.”
This was on a Friday. I came home and I started putting 10drops in a glass of water 3 times a day. And at that point, my heart was just, the doctors couldn’t believe that I was even able to walk around, to be honest with you. That’s what they told me, my cardiologist.
Dr. Starkey: Is that right?
Ray: Yeah.
Dr. Starkey: So it was to the point where even the doctors question your health, huh?
Ray: Oh, he didn’t know how I was able to walk around like that. He said, “Most people in your condition, they’re in bed. We don’t know how you’re able to do what you’re doing.”
Pulse was around 110 at the time and so I started putting 10drops in the glass of water 3 times a day. By Monday morning, it was so diminished that I had to actually physically check my pulse to confirm it was still an A Fib. And it was. It was still an A Fib but it was diminished.
By Wednesday at lunchtime, I was getting ready to eat and I’d just sat down at the table, just ready to eat, and all the sudden I felt a great calm come over me. And it felt just like the Lord put his hand on my shoulder and said, “It’s all over now.”
And I checked my pulse and it was 72. And it was a nice steady beat. And that’s the first I’ve experienced that for a month - at least a month. And I was afraid to move for fear it would go back into A Fib again. And I just sat there. And it didn’t go back into A Fib. It stayed good and it’s been probably 18 years now.
Dr. Starkey: Is that right?
Ray: Yep. About 18 years now.
Dr. Starkey: So you went from a moment in time where you didn’t want to move, and I have to let those who are listening know that this man is a machine. I mean, at his age, his love in his life was riding his bike. And I’m not talking about taking it for an afternoon stroll. We’re talking hundreds and hundreds of miles at a time.
And yet, this A Fib took him off the thing he loved to do the very most and yet here we are 18 years later and you’re not afraid to move anymore are you, Ray?
Ray: No. That was a gamechanger. I’m back. I ride approximately 150 miles a week and I’m 75 years old now.
Dr. Starkey: Right.
Ray: It’s miraculous. The trace minerals gave me my life back. That’s the bottom line. It was miraculous. And I’ve been spreading the word for 18 years to people that have the same problems. I’ve had a missionary contact me that he was in the same situation I was, and he goes to Pakistan once a year to preach over there and he takes his trace minerals with him.
Dr. Starkey: Absolutely.
Ray: It’s amazing how they change things. I just can’t say enough about Trace Minerals. That’s the real deal. The Ionic Trace Minerals. That’s what changed everything.
Dr. Starkey: And since that time, Ray, at this point, is there a day that you go without it?
Ray: Never.
Dr. Starkey: I get a lot of questions that way. I’ve always said it and I’ll say it out loud, we need to take the word “healed” out of our vocabulary. Take it out of our thought process. We never stop healing just like we never stop breathing, right?
Ray: Right.
Dr. Starkey: I love these individuals saying, “Well I take periodic breaks once in a while.” And it’s like, no. This need and this demand is so real in our society today that if we’re not replenishing and replacing on a daily basis, our storage bays are being robbed of it.
So I think in this case, we don’t have to go through a time in our lives, Ray, where, I’ll never forget the first time we had one of our conversations as to how desperate you truly were. When one says, I was to the point of almost taking my life because I was tired of living in fear to living life to its fullest and being healthier than you’ve ever been in your life at the age of 75.
Ray: Yes, yes. This is true.
Dr. Starkey: So to me, again, I just wanted those that struggle or have a family member or a loved one that struggles to hear what the possibilities are of just making a few adjustments with our lifestyles, right?
Ray: Right.
Dr. Starkey: We have to eat food. I think it’s a crime against our intelligence today, what we consider food within our society today.
Ray: Yes.
Dr. Starkey: And at the same time, putting that foundation back in where we should have received it in the first place can make some miraculous, and I love that word “miraculous.” You’ve always used it. I love that word, every time you share it.
So my question has always been, if it can work for us, Ray, and you’re in the same situation sometimes that I feel like I’m in. For 31years or, started my 31 years this past month, I’ve been screaming at the top of my lungs. And yet it seems like unless you’re in an extreme crisis, there’s just no interest. You’ve experienced that same thing, haven’t you?
Ray: Exactly. Yeah. My advice to people with arrhythmias and trying to cure them. I’ll use the word “cure.”
Dr. Starkey: That’s a bold word there Ray.
Ray: That a bold statement and being that I’m not a politician or I’m not politically correct, I’m gonna say it. To cure, don’t give up. That’s my advice. Don’t give up. Watch what you eat, no stimulants –caffeine, coffee, MSG. I used to come up and work and have a can of soup and it had MSG in it and I didn’t know at the time. Just like clockwork, 3 hours later, the A Fib felt worse. Really worse.
Dr. Starkey: So you identified it right down to ingredients.
Ray: Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Of course, a deficiency of electrolytes and then on top of that, you’re insulting your body with toxins, neurotoxins, and stimulants. Things will snowball on you. So my advice is don’t give up. Clean the diet up.
Dr. Starkey: Get plenty of hydration, right? Re-mineralize that water.
Ray: Yes exactly. Lots of water. And go from there. But don’t give up on it. Because it can be fixed. Unless it’s a mechanical problem in there. A valve or something. If it’s not that, it’s gotta be a nutritional deficiency – electrolytes. And that will usually take care of the problem.
Dr. Starkey: Well Ray, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Like I’ve said, I’ve enjoyed our friendship. I’ve added so many friends or more like family members to my family over the years because of these experiences and I just appreciate your willingness to share your experience with us today.
Ray: Well, it was my pleasure. I’m always up to helping people. That’s my life goal now is to eliminate a lot of suffering that I went through and to improve people’s lives. That’s what my calling is now, is to help people.
Dr. Starkey: Well, that is a perfect way to end this podcast. I hope for those that are listening, again, take this information, share it with, whether it be yourself personally or with a family member or loved one that is struggling. I couldn’t say it any better than to exchange that word to hope. Hope is a powerful gesture when it comes to this physical supplement that can make huge changes in our lives.
Ray: Yes.
Dr. Starkey: Thank you, Ray.
Ray: Okay, you’re welcome.
